Catalog & Lookbook Copy
A catalog is not a list of products with descriptions. It is an argument for why this collection, this season, this moment in a brand is worth the reader's time.
What this service covers
Most print and digital catalogs suffer from a writing problem disguised as a design problem. The design is often strong, the photography is commissioned and beautiful, but the copy exists only to fill space between images. When the copy is generic, the catalog becomes a price list with pictures. When the copy has its own narrative logic, a catalog becomes something people keep. We write catalog copy that has a coherent point of view: why this collection exists, what connects the products to each other, what mood or occasion or need is being addressed. We write introductory editorials, collection narratives, category headers, product copy, and pull quotes that are actually worth quoting. For lookbooks, we write copy that supports the image direction without competing with it: the words should add context the image cannot provide, not repeat what is already visible. We work closely with your design team or art director to understand the layout and how text and image will interact before we write a word.
